Once Month Later...

One month later….

Time does fly by.  I was only just celebrating my birthday for what, the ninth time? It was worth it.

So what have I been up to? Well I was in the UK at Shiv’s wedding, spending time in London and catching up with friends.  It was actually so strange being back as a tourist…but you just fall back in the swing of things.

So before I flew out, my lovely boss and friends threw a final birthday dinner for me; lots of food with lots of nice people.

Since being back I have been getting stuck in to work, seeing how the world of business functions here, although quite similar to Dubai…! The one thing I still can’t get used to is the aircon….it’s always so cold, so I have to step out for a walk to get warm….this is me in my work environment getting warmed up!

Another thing you have to get used to is the crazy driving and the traffic…the pictures don’t really do it justice, but hopefully this can give you some idea of the crazy driving.

Nearly three months later and my stuff that I shipped from London finally turn up….hoorah….although not when you open the box to find out that all my candles have melted….thankfully I have insurance!

Strangely my team have all been dressing in the same colours….maybe it’s a sign that we like each other and are becoming good friends, who knows, but its been going on for a week now. All dressed in white and then we go stripy!

Eating is a big part of the culture and we venture out for some of our lunches.  Ridds and Karem, two friends of mine here went out for some authentic thai food.  The place doesn’t look all that great, but the food is good.

And this is just the scenery around.

Some of you may know about my new love for this thali place called Anjappar….well I went again today.  A good vegetarian thali that costs £20 for three people…bargain!

Next for me is India….and it’s the monsoon season, so I wonder how that will be.  Stay tuned and I will share!
